Prepare to have your heart strings tugged! ASTRO's Cha Eun-woo is starring alongside veteran South Korean actress, Kim Nam-joo for a brand new emotion packed drama titled, Wonderful World. Set to premiere March 1st this year, the show has been highly buzzed due to its star-studded cast and revenge premise.
In the forthcoming emotional thriller Wonderful World, viewers will be taken on a gripping journey through the tumultuous life of Eun Soo-hyun, expertly portrayed by Kim Nam-joo, a distinguished psychology professor and accomplished writer. Haunted by the devastating loss of her son at the hands of a vicious murderer, Hyun's quest for justice is thwarted by a legal system that fails to deliver the retribution she seeks. Fueled by grief and determination, she embarks on a relentless pursuit to right the wrongs herself.
Enter Cha Eun-woo, of ASTRO fame, stepping into the role of Kwon Sun-yool, a character whose life takes a stark turn after abandoning his medical studies. Despite hailing from privilege, Yool opts for a rugged existence, his reasons shrouded in mystery. Their unexpected convergence sets the stage for a dynamic interplay of personalities and circumstances.
For Kim Nam-joo, Wonderful World heralds a triumphant return to television screens after a hiatus of six years since her last acclaimed drama, Misty. Conversely, for Cha Eun-woo, known for his lighter roles, this project signifies a departure into darker territory from his most recent work in A Good Day to Be a Dog, a whimsical romance. Anticipation runs high for the compelling performances expected from both actors.
Reflecting on her portrayal of Soo-hyun, Kim Nam-joo eloquently shares with the Korean press, “The source of Eun Soo-hyun’s strength is her strong maternal love. She represents the hearts of all mothers in the world who prioritize family above all else in life and would do anything for their children."
In turn, the seasoned actress commends her younger counterpart, praising Cha Eun-woo's evolving talent and dedication to his craft. "He is an actor who surprises me more and more as time goes on.” she said, “He is always open to advice, never hesitates to listen, and works hard in every moment, which made me feel at ease throughout filming. He is a good actor with a flexible mind and a positive attitude.
