South Korean actor Hwang In-yeop has been confirmed to act in an upcoming K-drama, set to premiere in 2024. A Prefabricated Family (working title) will feature the Why Her star, Jung Chae-yeon from The Golden Spoon as well as Bae Hyun-sung who took the lead role in Miraculous Brothers. The show is expected to start airing in 2024 and is adapted from the 2020 Chinese drama Go Ahead

A Prefabricated Family is a wholesome romance drama that focuses on three best friends who spent their teenage years as one another’s chosen family members before they each had to go their separate ways. The series follows the trio as they reunite in adulthood, 10 years after the split.

Hwang In-yeop breathes life into Kim San-ha, a layered character who seems to have it all, despite his mysterious and enigmatic past. Jung Chae-yeon plays Yoon Joo-won, the daughter of a kalguksu (Korean knife-cut noodle soup) restaurant owner, whose character is defined by her own positivity and resilience. Bae Hyun-sung’s role is that of Kang Hae-jun, a character who has endured a turbulent upbringing but is determined to repay the kindness he has received, especially from Yoon Joo-won’s father.

This heartwarming tale will follow the three young adults as they face the tribulations of growing up, first loves and friendship together. A Prefabricated Family takes tropes of young romance and turns them into heartfelt, stirring stories of affection and love that transcend blood ties.
