The convergence of esteemed designers and renowned high-end fashion brands such as LVMH, Nike, Asics, and Lululemon brings a touch of artistry to the event. These creators breathe life into each garment, transforming competition outfits into masterpieces of art. Every ensemble is a testament to creativity, meticulous craftsmanship, and dedication, epitomizing the sporting spirit and the bold, unrestrained beauty of athletes worldwide.
Team USA
Ralph Lauren, the American fashion titan, continues its legacy of outfitting US athletes for the ninth time. For the 2024 Summer Olympics in the illustrious fashion capital of Paris, Ralph Lauren has once again delivered an exquisite collection.
Drawing inspiration from Paris’s vibrant, free-spirited essence, the new uniforms harmoniously blend American sports heritage with contemporary fashion aesthetics. The opening ceremony attire features the brand’s iconic blazer paired with a striped oxford shirt and jeans. The red, white, and blue palette, symbolizing national pride, is elegantly executed, echoing the athletes’ patriotic fervor.
Ralph Lauren’s collection extends beyond the opening ceremony, offering a wardrobe of bomber jackets, satin baseball jackets, hoodies, and T-shirts for the team’s use during and post-Olympics. Each piece perfectly fuses classic American sports style with modern sophistication, showcasing the elegance and sportsmanship of the athletes.
French team
The host nation, France, has enlisted Stéphane Ashpool, founder of Parisian streetwear label Pigalle, to collaborate with Le Coq Sportif on their Olympic line. This partnership has produced attire for both competition and leisure, steeped in patriotic hues of blue, white, and red.
Ashpool’s designs feature a sophisticated gradient effect, seamlessly transitioning colours across jackets, racing pants, bicycle helmets, and accessories. For the opening ceremony, Berluti, the luxury French fashion house, has crafted elegant ensembles. These outfits, in the national colours, exude sophistication and national pride.
Berluti’s artisans have meticulously crafted 1,500 exclusive outfits for the French team, each piece—tuxedos, shirts, belts, scarves, pocket squares, and leather shoes—exemplifying impeccable craftsmanship and respect for the athletes’ dedication.
Canadian team
Lululemon, a leader in Canadian sports fashion, has made a striking impact with its innovative Paris 2024 Olympic uniform collection. The outfits blend traditional and modern elements, with red—the national color—embellished with bold motifs that enhance the attire's beauty and express strong national pride and team solidarity.
The collection emphasizes both aesthetics and practicality. Designed to suit various body types and preferences, the new jacquard fabric offers high breathability and sweat absorption, ensuring athletes remain comfortable in all weather conditions. Practical features like magnetic zippers and adjustable fit loops add to the functionality.
Australian team
Sportscraft, Australia’s storied fashion brand, has reimagined the Paris 2024 Olympic uniform. The designs merge Parisian elegance with Australian indigenous culture. The men’s blazer, crafted from premium materials, is paired with a soft cotton t-shirt and knee-length chino shorts. The women’s blazer, versatile and elegant, can be worn with shorts or pleated skirts.
The yellow and green vein pattern on the men’s t-shirt symbolises Olympic colours and a connection to nature. The green blazer carries a unifying message, with the embroidered names of all 301 Australian Olympic champions and the athletes' oath on the inside pocket.
The scarf, adorned with Olympic boxer Paul Fleming’s artwork "Walking Together," and the pocket handkerchief featuring David Bosun’s "Ngalmun Danalaig," celebrate Australia’s rich Indigenous cultural heritage.
Spanish team
Joma, in collaboration with the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), has unveiled a collection inspired by carnations, Spain’s national flower. The red and yellow colours of the Spanish flag dominate the collection, reflecting national pride. Dynamic colour-shifting patterns add vibrancy and style.
The fabrics, designed for sweat absorption and elasticity, ensure maximum comfort for athletes. Joma’s commitment to sustainability is evident through the use of eco-friendly fabrics like recycled polyester and organic cotton, alongside chemical-free dyeing techniques.
Mongolia team
The Mongolian team strides forward in impressive ceremonial costumes designed by Michel & Amazonka, capturing an Asian essence. The costumes feature a harmonious blend of national and Olympic symbols, including nine white flags representing the Mongolian tribes and the Olympic torch, symbolizing the athletes' enthusiastic and resilient spirit. Intricate gold embroidery of the Paris Olympics symbol, sun, moon, and Gua-Maral (legendary deer) creates a luxurious and majestic ensemble.
Thailand team
Grand Sport, the kit sponsor for the Thai national team, continues its commitment to sustainability and cultural celebration with a jersey inspired by Ban Chiang culture. The theme "Be Our Spirit" incorporates intricate ceramic decoration patterns from Ban Chiang, Thailand's significant archaeological heritage. These patterns not only add unique beauty to the outfit but also reflect the country's rich history and cultural identity.
The attire symbolises hope for the Thai national team's success and aims to promote Ban Chiang's cultural heritage globally. Grand Sport’s commitment to eco-friendly materials for jersey production underscores their dedication to environmental protection and sustainable development.
