Take Flight with ‘On The Wings Of Hermès’
The cinematic show is created for the Maison by Belgian duo Jaco Van Dormael and Michèle Anne De Mey, and performed by the Astragales dance company.
After performances in Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Shanghai, the world tour of On The Wings Of Hermès arrives in Singapore. In this poetic and cinematic staging directed by Jaco Van Dormael, choreographed by Michèle Anne De Mey, and performed by the Astragales dance company, seven foals of Pegasus embark on a quest for lightness in order to find their wings.
For 35 magical minutes, graceful bodies and Hermès objects come alive in whimsical and idyllic mini-sets: a circus; an opera sung by a chorus of Kelly bags; a flight of twirling gloves; two entwined lovers carried away by the wind. The performance is captured in real time and projected onto a screen, vacillating between illusion and reality in a hypnotic ode to oneirism.
On The Wings Of Hermès is open to the public from 19 to 28 July at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre. Admission is free and visitors can book their visit online.
