Centre stage at Zegna's Fall/Winter 2024 runway in Milan's Allianz Mico was a striking heap of cashmere flakes. This vibrant mound, bathed in the iconic vicuna hue, mirrored the blending rooms of Oasi Zegna's headquarters in Trivero, Italy, encapsulating the essence of the brand's sala delle mischie.
Cashmere took the spotlight, celebrated for its versatility, preciousness, and traceability. The collection introduced a structural reimagining of wardrobe staples, neatly categorized into tops, bottoms, underpinnings, and accessories. Wearers were encouraged to layer and combine elements freely, fostering a sense of individual expression. Shapes underwent a seamless evolution, with coats, blousons, vests, and trousers embracing generous volumes, practical features, and diverse body postures. Knitted tops and bottoms not only exuded presence but also delivered exceptional performance. The colour palette, boasting harmonious blends and vibrant mixes, added depth to the ensemble, while textures, ranging from multi-melange Shetland/cashmere to cashmere-backed plongè leather, introduced a tactile dimension.
