Marcelo Burlon Opens a Pop Up
Marcelo Burlon sets up its first pop-up store in Singapore at Mandarin Gallery – expect the Italian brand's signature street-wise bold visual aesthetic and lots of gothic fonts.
From now to April 2017, head down to Mandarin Gallery (#02-16) to check out the Marcelo Burlon pop-up store by Surrender. The temporary retail space replaces Surrender’s previous pop-up, and gives fans of the Italian brand a chance to shop a wider selection of its street-wise designs.
The pop-up will stock the full range of the Marcelo Burlon Spring Summer 2017 collection. The collection is an ode to the strength of a cultural melting pot and draws from intertwining worlds. Culturally layered and graphic styles are a recurring strength, and that comes through especially in the combination of east and west. Ninja stars are put alongside Patagonian symbols; kimono shapes alongside chainmail and PVC fabrics.
We’re fond of the myriad ways the Milanese designer adds texture to his graphic visuals. On tees, they find place as a trompe-l’oeil 3D effect or as richly layered embellishment in the form of sequins. If you lean towards a quieter disposition, consider the visual punch of the phone cases. No need for statements across your chest when your most indispensable gadget’s doing the talking.
Marcelo Burlon Pop-Up Store is at Mandarin Gallery #02-16 from December 2016 to April 2017.
