Hublot Unveils New Drip with the Arsham Droplet
This “future relic” is plucked from the streams of time.
After the wild whimsy of Takashi Murakami, Hublot now turns to ambassador and contemporary artist Daniel Arsham’s vision of transforming everyday objects into “future relics”. The Arsham Droplet reimagines the classic pocket watch as an avant-garde masterpiece plucked straight from the eddies of time, a crystalline teardrop of horological futurism.
Inspired by the organic, fluid forms found in nature, the Arsham Droplet sandwiches an openworked titanium case between two exquisitely crafted domed and tear-shaped sapphire crystals. The case architecture features a droplet motif, with beads of negative space carved out. Side bumpers in a custom Arsham Green and stamped with the artist’s monogram surround the unconventional form.
Encased within the radical creation is the equally radical Meca-10 manufacture movement, Hublot’s industrial good-looker that indicates power reserve through a sliding scale. And speaking of power reserve, the impressive calibre boasts up to 10 days worth of it, reducing the need for constant winding.
The Arsham Droplet comes with two titanium chains, each with Hublot’s patented double “one-click” system for seamless attachment. Meaning the timepiece can be worn as a traditional pocket watch, hung around the neck as a statement pendant, or displayed as a centrepiece clock on its decorative titanium and mineral glass table stand.
