All You Need to Know About Burberry's New Ambassador, Actor Son Seok Gu
The actor officially joins the team of Korean Burberry ambassadors, along with soccer player Son Heung Min and actress Jun Ji Hyun
If you weren't familiar with Korean Actor Son Seok Gu already, you will be now. Son is Burberry's newly appointed brand ambassador, joining other Korean ambassadors soccer player Son Heung Min and actress Jun Ji Hyun.
He began acting in the early 2010s and rose to fame with his role in the 2018 romantic comedy Matrimonial Chaos. After that, he took on a supporting role in the hit political thriller Designated Survivor: 60 Days.
In 2021, Son played Captain Im Ji-sup in DP, a Netflix action series about a South Korean military police alliance that captures and punishes deserters. That same year, the actor starred in the romantic drama Nothing Serious and debuted as a director for an episode of Unframed.
As for critical reception, Son received much praise from critics for his role in the 2022 drama My Liberation Notes. He also took on the lead role in the crime drama The Roundup, a project that made history and became the highest-grossing film in Korea in 2022.
As for the partnership, Burberry had this to say: "Son Seok Gu has always conquered many different film genres as an actor, very suitable for the spirit that Burberry pursues. He shares the same philosophy as the brand, and we are excited to welcome him into the Burberry family.”
