Dolce & Gabbana Returns To "Style" For Their Spring/Summer 2024 Show
Simply called "style", the show presents essential silhouettes that go from a snug fit to the more oversized outerwear
The Dolce & Gabbana Spring-Summer 2024 show is named "Style" and suggests a return to cleanliness, continuing the path initiated by the Fall-Winter 2023 women's show and extending it to the men's collection. The collection showcases sophisticated elegance with elements such as see-through transparency and lace. It features essential silhouettes, ranging from snug-fitting to oversized outerwear, as well as bullfighter trousers with stapled fabric waistbands and urban cargo pants. Additionally, an unconventional sporty sock-shoe is paired even with more formal ensembles. The colour palette consists solely of white, black, and scorched earth tones, without any prints or vibrant colours, except for the 90s pinstripe pattern.
Titled simply "Style," the Dolce & Gabbana Spring-Summer 2024 men's collection embodies the brand's identity, which, after abandoning the pursuit of current trends, has rightfully returned to its origins. This identity was developed over almost 40 years of their career, during which the stylistic duo managed to make a mark in the history of men's fashion. Similar to the previous season, the show reintroduces cult items from the archives on the runway, showcasing looks that bear a special label indicating the year of their initial creation. This revival incorporates imagery from the 90s and 2000s, featuring tailored suits, tank tops, flat caps, rosaries, black jackets, and elements reminiscent of Sicily.
The pinstripe pattern is characterized by wide stripes and embellished with a flower appuliqué on the pocket. This floral application adds refinement to the transparent fabric shirts, apron-dresses with bibs, and certain t-shirts with drapes resembling the ruffles found on statue robes. The collection also includes Tatami ground shoes and sock-boots with rubber soles as accessories. The colour palette remains essential and focuses on monochromatic looks, featuring white, black, grey, camel, and brown. Prints and opulent designs are excluded, except for polka dots, which are allowed. The collection alternates between formal looks with slim and oversized silhouettes, incorporating bomber jackets, technical jerseys, cargo pants, and sweatshirts to interpret the contemporary man's wardrobe. Fads, trends, and anything that does not align with the brand's authentic DNA are strictly prohibited.
