Moncler's Latest Collaboration with Japanese Label, Sacai Reinvents Outerwear

Following the recent sacai x Carhartt WIP partnership, Chitose Abe's Japanese label collaborates with Moncler, introducing a capsule range of avant-garde pieces that pay tribute to the brand's history. Drawing inspiration from Moncler's enduring legacy of crafting outerwear for the most extreme mountain conditions, Abe infuses a modern touch that has successfully transcended into urban fashion, solidifying Moncler's position as the forefront brand in this category.

In the winter of 2023, the fusion of these two iconic brands gives rise to a collection comprising four meticulously curated ensembles featuring innovative designs and functionality. This union seamlessly blends sartorial elegance with utilitarian style, resulting in a creative partnership that seamlessly merges the aesthetic of the Japanese brand with Moncler's outdoor DNA. The collaboration showcases two men's and two women's looks, one presenting a sleek all-black ensemble, while the other embraces shades of off-white and ecru. Each outfit comprises multiple pieces, enabling wearers to deconstruct and recompose in novel ways, creating unexpected combinations.

The concept of transformability extends to the jackets, which can be assembled with trousers, transforming into a suit. Zippers ingeniously open the sleeves of a down jacket, metamorphosing it into a stylish cape. Internal straps seamlessly convert a down jacket into a backpack, while the same detail is integrated into the formal suit—wherein the jacket and blazer effortlessly slip off the shoulders, revealing a pleated lingerie-inspired dress.
