In Prada's hands, subtraction becomes an act of courage, revealing a vision of modern menswear that feels both timeless and remarkably relevant.

Fashion often moves in cycles. Some seasons are defined by excess, while others find strength in restraint. Prada's Spring/Summer 2027 menswear collection firmly embraces the latter, stripping fashion back to its essentials in a powerful statement about clarity and purpose.
Presented at the Deposito of Fondazione Prada, the show unfolded in a futuristic setting designed by long-time collaborator OMA. The space echoed the collection itself, with clean lines, precise geometry, stark neon lighting and carefully balanced empty spaces. Every element asked the same question: what remains when everything unnecessary is removed?
For Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, the answer is clarity.
The collection reimagines the foundations of menswear through radical subtraction. Denim jackets, jeans and T-shirts, perhaps the most familiar pieces in any man's wardrobe, are removed from their everyday context and refined with remarkable precision. The result is neither luxury streetwear nor nostalgia. Instead, it is something far more considered.

Prada describes this process as "rematerialisation", an approach that reclassifies familiar garments and changes how we perceive their value and meaning. Every piece feels purposeful, while accessories remain understated, blending naturally into the overall silhouette rather than competing for attention.
The silhouettes themselves are lean, controlled and impeccably clean. Every detail feels intentional, reinforcing the collection's central idea that less can often say more.
In the collection notes, Prada explains that "refusal can be a deliberate act, an antidote to complexity, and a tool for definition." It is a philosophy that runs through every look. Rather than chasing novelty through excess, the designers embrace restraint as a creative force. Here, innovation comes not from adding more, but from carefully removing what no longer serves a purpose.
The show's setting reflected this same mindset. Designed by Rem Koolhaas's OMA studio, the industrial Deposito became a calm, almost clinical environment where architecture and fashion worked together to sharpen the audience's focus. Nothing distracted from the clothes or the ideas behind them.

The front row reflected Prada's global cultural influence just as clearly as the collection itself. Musicians Troye Sivan and Mahmood represented two very different corners of the music world, while acclaimed directors Joachim Trier and Thomas Vinterberg brought the perspective of European auteur cinema. NBA star Anthony Edwards sat alongside actor Louis Partridge, who continues to strengthen his relationship with the Italian fashion house.
Also in attendance were NCT's Jaehyun, ENHYPEN, Greg Hsu, Pond Naravit, Kentaro Sakaguchi, and more. Together, they formed a diverse mix of artists, actors, musicians and athletes that perfectly captured Prada's international reach.
Prada describes the collection's ambition as "concentration", not as simplification, but as a heightened sense of focus and attention. In a world that often feels increasingly complicated, the Spring/Summer 2027 collection offers a thoughtful alternative. Rather than overwhelming the viewer, it encourages a closer look, proving that clarity is not about doing less for its own sake, but about having the confidence to focus on what truly matters.
