All The Best Looks From Saint Laurent's Spring/Summer 2022 Collection
Like some other brands, the - almost - post-pandemic scenario is causing Saint Laurent to follow its own pace: outside the usual fashion calendar. With its newly introduced Spring/Summer 2022 Menswear Collection, the French brand has focused on constant urban change. The chosen location? Nothing less than Venice, Italy.
In collaboration with American artist Doug Aitken, creative director Anthony Vaccarello brought together unique pieces: a conversation about the future world. Faced with the mirrored installation, Green Lens, by Aitken - which will be accessible to the public until July 30, 2021 - the collection proportionally merges with the architecture, bringing a constantly changing vision of the city.
Located on the island of Isola Della Certosa, the living artistic installation harmonizes with a cultural stage, where the city's landscape creates a strong ecological narrative within the artwork that speaks to the idea of the future world - also evidenced by the mirrors, which reveal a kaleidoscopic view against a dense botanical environment.
Since we look eagerly to the future and try our best to find balanced ways to harmonize with the natural environment, an environment where nature is strengthened again, creativity is defended and the weight of the past is lifted, it ends up become fluid and inspiring. Therefore, the idea is to encourage everyone to have a positive vision of the future, a synergy where landscape and innovation merge - carefully planned as the same objective of the collection.
Another incredible detail is that during the month, there will be activations in the sculpture as a sequence of performances and conversations that are thought-provoking and inspiring, with a focus on the future interpreted by musicians, speakers and dancers. "What's the future?" it is the narrative threaded throughout the project. The activities will be filmed and shared by all Saint Laurent channels.
