SEVENTEEN's Mingyu is Announced As Dior's Newest Ambassador
The dashing K-pop idol is the latest face to join and represent the Maison's menswear designs.
After murmurings around the fashion circle and speculation from fans, we finally have the confirmation from the Maison themselves as Dior announced Kim Mingyu of K-pop boy group, SEVENTEEN as their latest House Ambassador. The South Korean heartthrob joins an illustrous family of stars including BTS' Jimin, BLACKPINK's Jisoo, Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton and more.
While by no means a fashion week newbie, Mingyu attended his first Dior show this year in Paris for their Fall 2024 collection which caught the attention of many CARATs (the group's loyal fandom) and the fashion set.
The idol opted for a simple navy suit and button-down shirt with blue embellishments as a glamorous detail. Speaking to Vogue, he speaks of his tendency to prefer a more minimalist style, explaining, "This is my first time attending a Dior show, so I wanted to keep it understated. I think it’s what elevates this look and really sets it apart. Such subtle details are what l appreciate the most about the look overall." He later went on to say that he's open to experimenting with bolder looks should the opportunity arises and it looks like it has.
From the announcement images alone, Mingyu rocks two different looks by Dior Men. One more soft with feminine elements and the other more minimalist and severe, showcasing his versatility. We can't wait for more to come from this stylish partnership.
