Lee Seung-gi and His Wife Lee Da-in are Expecting Their First Child
Though the exact details remain unannounced, the couple’s firstborn will arrive sometime next year.
South Korean actors Lee Seung-gi and Lee Da-in are pregnant with their first child. While Korean media reports do not state exactly how far along Lee Da-in is in her pregnancy, the child is expected to be born sometime next year, in 2024. Lee Da-in’s agency 9-Ato Entertainment has also confirmed the couple’s happy news, much to the delight of fans.
Even though their relationship was initially met with some negative sentiments from local netizens, fans of both actors couldn’t help but express their sincere congratulations to the couple on their respective Instagram accounts as they embark on the next chapter of their married life together.
Lee Seung-gi, the “Triple Threat” entertainer known for his acting, singing and hosting skills, first announced his marriage to Lee Da-in via his personal Instagram account earlier this year. In a heartfelt handwritten letter, the Vagabond actor said that this was “the most important decision of [his] life”. The couple had been reportedly dating since late 2020, after finding a shared affinity for golf and acting. They officially tied the knot on April 7 in Gangnam, Seoul.
Known for his down-to-earth, boyish charm, Lee Seung-gi first came onto the entertainment scene as a singer in 2004 at age 17, with his debut hit “Because You’re My Woman”. At the moment, Lee Seung-gi is hosting Sing Again 3, a reality singing programme that aims to uncover hidden vocal talents from all over Korea. He served as the show’s main MC for its earlier two seasons as well, earning him the love of the public for his empathy and sincerity on the show.
Meanwhile Lee Da-in entered the acting industry at age 22, with the K-drama Twenty Years Old but landed a breakthrough role in 2016’s Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth. Lee Da-in is currently filming for the K-drama My Dearest. Filming for the series is expected to continue right until the end of the drama’s broadcast, but thankfully Lee Da-in’s parts of the filming are reported to be coming to a close soon.
