This February, watch as two icons of the British retail landscape collide. Burberry is launching a month-long takeover at Harrods, the renowned department store based in London. In celebration of Burberry’s long-time adoration for the outdoors, the luxury label is donning the department store’s storied building in Knightsbridge in Knight Blue, a signature House shade introduced by Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer Daniel Lee.

For the month of February, the distinct green awnings of Harrods are peeled back to reveal a seasonal Burberry check, with vitrines teeming with classic camping tools such as carabiners, draped waterproof fabrics and tent guy ropes. Visitors at Harrods can warm up in the chilly London winter with British menu picks as well as some steaming hot drinks, courtesy of the Burberry food truck.

The true stars of the Harrods takeover, however, are inside. Visitors can get their hands on a limited capsule collection of more than 40 Burberry pieces, exclusive to Harrods for the month. Expect to see reimagined versions of the Chess and Rocking Horse bags, as well as a brand new Knight bag made from nappa leather. Ready-to-wear pieces as well as childrenswear will also be available for purchase on the department store’s website and at the physical takeover space.

For outdoor adventurers, the Burberry Camping Corner is the place to be. The space will showcase classic British hiking accessories including a bespoke knight bottle opener and water bottle. You can even snag yourself a piece of the true British hiking experience by picking up a piece of Romney’s Kendal Mint Cake, a little confectionery lovingly regarded as the world’s first energy bar, a treat beloved by mountaineers and explorers.

Burberry’s affinity for the spirit of exploration is deeply embedded in its history. Thomas Burberry, the founder of the luxury house, invented Gabardine, a special fabric meant to combine the qualities of waterproof gear with the comfort of other breathable materials. This creation led to the distinct trench coat from Burberry, which visitors can learn more about at Harrods this February. The space will hold a special collection of iconic Burberry trenches for visitors to learn more about the legacy of the 168-year-old brand.

The guardians of the classic department store, the green men of Harrods, will be dressed in a reimagined Knight Blue check uniform, a pattern designed by Daniel Lee and introduced in the brand’s Spring 2024 line. In addition, collectors can get their hands on a limited-edition run of the signature Harrods bear. Each of the 175 bears will don a miniature hand-embroidered scarf, customised by the luxury label, in celebration of Harrods’ 175th anniversary.
