Recently, Montblanc pulled out all the stops to commemorate a century of its iconic Meisterstück fountain pen with a glittering event in Los Angeles, featuring a captivating performance by none other than John Legend. Adding to the excitement, Montblanc has teamed up with the visionary American director Wes Anderson to create a witty film in honour of this momentous occasion.
The 3-minute short film, aptly titled 100 Years of MEISTERSTÜCK, showcases Wes Anderson himself on screen, sharing the spotlight with Astroid City’s Jason Schwartzman and Rupert Friend. True to Anderson's signature style, the film unfolds with single-frame scenes and subtly humorous dialogue, offering a whimsical exploration of Montblanc's rich history and exceptional craftsmanship.
In the opening scene of 100 Years of MEISTERSTÜCK, the cast finds themselves atop the majestic Mont Blanc mountain in Western Europe, braving the elements as they dash through the blazing snow. Seeking refuge, they make their way into the Mount Blanc Observatory to unveil the anniversary collection. Among the treasures showcased are an array of bags, pouches, and wallets, each exuding Montblanc's hallmark elegance. Adding an extra touch of allure, they reveal a special-edition fountain pen crafted by none other than Wes Anderson himself, slated for release in 2025.
